Good win , I was worried we would be flat and stutter to a draw.

That's the way to fuckin do it.

Alright it's Norwich, but after a game like Thursday, West Ham teams of yore would have got fucked over with a hangover.

Well done Moyes and Boys

Proud of you

Bit of an odd comment about a player that has scored 8 league goals, and 11 in all competitions. I fully get he is a frustrating player, but I don’t think his goal contribution is something that people can be highly critical about.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread
It was a season too far really for Cresswell as the first choice left back. He did have a good start and thru to that injury against Man City ( clobbered the post) he was getting by and making up for defensive weakness ( pace and strength) with some great crosses into the box for Antonio etc. An older player in a league that gets faster and stronger every year he was, as mentioned, always on borrowed time.

He just could not get back to early season form and he seemed even a tad slower. A few goals started coming down the left more this season ( crosses not being cut out etc. ) and no longer getting those crosses to arc in and putting his foot on the ball before doing so thus giving defenders that bit of extra time to cover.

He then comes up against teams that had done their homework. They press high and are quick and sadly he gets found out twice with wide players getting ahead of pressing him. Lacking strength too he decides to put hands on them. Very naïve against continental players who will hit the deck immediately.

But that’s what happens as players age and are not replaced in time. But he has been a good servant overall and one of our better players over the last 10 years and largely in struggling West Ham teams.

He will be required in the squad and a decent back up next season so you have to forgive and move on.

I watched the first 7 mins then my stream went down and I saw the last 50mins so I’ve commented on what I’ve seen. Funnily enough the manager didn’t seem to think we played that well either in his post match interview ….maybe you want to cunt him off as well ???? Or was I right

Agreed.... We do need an upgrade but still think he would be better back up that Masuaku! ;-)

Professional, very professional. The complete antithesis of both Frankfurt performances.

Zico - Fair enough, I thought you were suggesting he shouldn't kop any flak, as he certainly should. Tbf it was only 3 days ago, so I can understand why it's still raw for some. That wasn't some normal game, and it was an horrific fuck up after just 19 mins. Well done to him today for staying on the pitch, I even noticed he had a hair out of place. Hopefully we will have a new LB next season, and I say that as someone that has generally liked and supported Cresswell, he has been a good signing for us when all is said and done.

How bad must they be for Benrahma to put two past them?

Until today, only Arsenal and Man City had put 4 (or more) past them at Carrow Road, this season.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Manuel - Not at all. I gave Cresswell flak on Thursday after his cock up, and immediately after the game and indeed he did deserve that flak at the time. But it's gone, finished, nowt we can do about it now, we move on. I just get irritated by certain comments knocking him several days afterwards when there is absolutely no point in it. Support the team, have a grumble and then move on to the next with a clean slate. I thought the Away fans were brilliant as I didn't hear any booing or such and that's the way it should be. We won 4-0, clean sheet and Cress played ok and stayed on the pitch!! 3 points, thank you very much!

Zico - Nobody said he should be lynched, did they. It's fair game to give players some flak when they fuck up, or do you think they should only ever be praised?

A routine win against a shockingly poor opposition. Nothing special beating those chumps 0-4. How bad must they be for Benrahma to put two past them? No doubt that is the first time he has scored more than one goal in a Premier League game.

If Antonio's back for the Man City game, I'll want to know how the physios managed it.

Rib injuries have cost me quite a few games, they take so long to heal

Good sides bounce back from disappointment, we are a good team on course for a successive top 6 finish.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
We did not have to play that well today but did what we had to. Neat and tidy but really their keeper gave us the first 2 goals as gifts and after that we never really had to graft. Kept possession well but Norwich gave us a ton of space compared to Frankfurt so Lanzini and Rice were able to control the game for long periods. Shows what we knew. We don’t quite have the pace and technical quality in 4 or so players when teams play a good press or sit deeper. Since Norwich did not we were able to get behind them like for the third goal.

Then another gift for the fifth but after the week we’ve had we were due a few things going our way.

Will be great to have something to play for on the last day of the season but based on what now looks like injuries to Antonio and Benny and even assuming Dawson returns ok, I cannot see us getting much against City and Brighton based on watching both in a few games recently.

That said you never know in football. An “Alamo” performance against City to snatch a draw is I suppose possible but might need the post to be motm as it was against Burnley a few seasons ago. And similar solid defensive effort against Brighton and a late smash and grab because if it comes to possession both these teams will dominate. City always do and Brighton have been against most teams including Arsenal and Spuds recently.

Anyway we have a decent chance of Euro footie next season even if it’s the 2 bob conference league. It’s something to show for a good season that unfortunately was too much for our squad. A 6th and 7th place finish in succession must be one of our best successive seasons?

Ok fair enough pure stupidity. Same stupidity I suspect than Julian Dicks getting sent off numerous times, same stupidity as Geoff Hurst taking a penalty in a semi final against a goalkeeper who knew which way he placed them. Mistakes are stupid, that's why they are mistakes. Yeah he fucked up but he has had 253 odd games and I'm pretty sure he has had more good games than bad! He didn't kill anyone, he is one of ours and I just don't think he should be lynched. Let's just move on,.
